In case anyone didn't see this article about Krist in Rolling Stone, here it is...
NOVOSELIC QUITS MUSIC Nirvana basist shifts focus to politics
The bass player who co-founded Nirvana is giving up on the music business. "I quit," Krist Novoselic wrote on his Web site in late July. "I can't read the magazines, listen to the radio or watch music television without feeling like I've just come in from outer space." Though he may play occasionally, he's done with the corporate side. "I'm not bitter." Novoselic tells ROLLING STONE. "It just wasn't working for me anymore. It's more about me than the industry." After Kurt Cobain's suicide in 1994, Novoselic formed Sweet 75, which released one record and broke up in 2000. The next year he formed Eyes Adrift with Meat Puppets guitarist Curt Kirkwood and Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh; they recorded a CD in 2002. "Every band I've ever been in just falls apart." Novoselic writes on Eyes Adrift's Web site. Novoselic has been more successful in the political arena, and some pundits have mentioned him as a potential candidate for Washington state office. His political-action group, JAMPAC, has been effective in overturning censorship laws. "I've concluded that if I've had any kind of success after Nirvana, it's been in the world of politics." he says.
And then above it has a terrible picture of him flipping off the camera. It's written by Charles Cross, the guy who wrote "Heavier than Heaven".

yeah they mentioned this in Q magazine too, i wasn't sure if it was true at first, because the page it was on, it looked kinda like a 'spoof' page but this just confirms it.. i feel really sorry for krist, i mean, it's true, every band he's been in hasn't gone well for him. poor guy. dave has done really well for himself.. do you think krist compares himself to dave? i doubt it though.. there were rumours about him having big drinking problems, wasn't there? i wondered if that has affected his music or ambition. he seems to have genuinely lost faith in the music industry, which is sad.. i can understand though, because think about how much everything has changed since nirvana hit the big time. the ethics are different. the poor guy must feel totally displaced.

I read this in a magazine a few hours ealrier. I was just about to post something about it. Its sad that Krist is out of music for good. Hes a role model for Bass guitarists. He made the bass guitar a weapon on stage. Just killing it. I can see why hes lost interest in the music scene. Look at the crap they have on MTV and VH1 and etc... Its nothing like the music they had back in the days of Nirvana. When Nirvana was big the music scene was real, now its just little fags and whores dancing around and trying to be sexy. Who wants to be a part of that? Its all turned to shit and Krist sees that. I never heard anything that he has made since Nirvana but i bet its some great stuff, just overlooked because it wasnt whats popular in the world today. I hope Krists political career skyrockets because he would be an awesome full-time politician. I bet he will do some great things for the world. The best of luck to him.
