amazing. went to see this a few weeks ago. it completely blew me away. i've read the original poem and this brought it to life so completely..i was astounded. grendel is terrifying. the opening sequence where you see him sat in a cave digging a claw into his head is disgusting, as is the bit where beowulf pounds his ear until it bursts.. *shudder* a few of my friends thought it was really misogynistic and shallow but i couldn't disagree more, i think its a wonderful work of cinema and a testament to the things that can be done with CGI these days. i completely agree with their decision to digitise the whole thing - if they hadn't done it, it would've been about 20% real people and 80% CGI anyway cos of all the monsters and stuff. "I AM BEOWULF!"

I've yet to see it, but it looks really good. I bought the original(book that is)just to refresh me on the story. Great piece of literature. I'm looking forward to the film
