AWESOME film. One of my favourites of all the ones I've seen (not just Batman films).
Ledger is scarily good as the Joker.. definitely deserving an Oscar for that one. It's quite a twisted film but quite clever with it.. i've never really got the Batman stuff until now.
And yeah christian bale (who i'm guessing played Batman?) wasnt really all that good.. though he doesnt really play all that big a part as I expected.. not a BAD performance but next to the Joker he didnt really stand a chance!

eeeee i'm excited now i love heath ledger.. not just because he was a pretty face but because of his acting. i think this film has received a lot more attention because of his death, which is a shame in a way because it means that a lot of people are only going to see it because it's kind of macabre and spooky to watch a dead man's performance. but maybe that's thinking about it too much... hehe

Yeah i think his death had a lot to do with it, but dead or alive its a brilliant performance! I think you'll really enjoy it.. be interested to see what you think afterwards/.
At least he wont be remembered as a gay cowboy in brokeback mountain!

spoilerz...
OH MY GOD. that was EASILY heath ledger's best ever acting performance. if he doesn't get an oscar for that i will actually eat my hat. i found the movie to be really clever, kind of a combination of 'Saw', 24, GTA, and Hamlet - did you notice the Hamlet stuff? the way that batman has to be a hero by not being a hero, as michael caine puts it, it's totally Hamlet ;D the similarities were blindingly obvious once i realised it about halfway thru the movie. the psychological aspects of the joker have never really been explored before - i mean, we thought jack nicholson was scary!? heath ledger blows his performance out of the water. the reason i say it's kind of similar to '24' and 'saw' is the two boats where the people have to decide whether to push the button... that's kind of modern-day terrorism, and the sort of thing that you see in the 'saw' movies, moral decisions on behalf of large groups of people who've been told a certain thing which may not be true, and observing their reaction... MORGAN FREEMAN is such a dude!! he absolutely owned in this film even though he probably only had about 10 minutes of dialogue.
excellent film. very jumpy, and kind of hard to keep up with, but worth seeing by far!

Glad you liked it!!
Yeah its a very clever one, I never read Hamlet but yeah I see your point. The two boats was an awesome part of the movie and yeah the Joker is REALLY scary at some points. Cant wait till it comes out on DVD!
Maybe we should warn others about the spoilers in this thread? Perhaps in the title?
