well it was smells like teen spirit first song i ever heard then i went to a family part and found out that my dads sisters daughter went to see nirvana in reading in 1992 and had shirts and i listen to some of the songs she had they where a live dive and polly and when i heard endless nameless a hidden track she taped it i went nuts what a pure rage of exciting music what did everyone else first hear of nirvana  |

i think i must have heard SLTS first. my mum was looking through a Britannia music catalogue and asked if i'd like the Nirvana CD Nevermind which was in the catalogue and i was just like "yeah sure", so she bought it for me and that was the first time i properly listened to Nirvana. i am only guessing that SLTS was the first Nirvana song i heard because it was the most popular and i'd probably listened to it unknowingly before...

for me, i'd have to say either LITHIUM or STAY AWAY i finally bought Nevermind about 4 or 5 years ago (the single album that got me OFF of britney and backstreet boys and turned me into a rocker!!  when i listened to the CD, i remember freaking out, flashing back to when my brother played the CD in his room while we played Nintendo... i was only a YOUNG YOUNG YOUNG child... to remember hearing these songs SO many years later, thats a specail feeling |

i know it sounds like a cliche- but smells like teen spirit...it is a song that was played VERY often, and had a very distinctive sound. It's bound to be the first song for ALOT of people. Despite it being a cliche- I think it's a good song to have heard first
